Adidas’ core audience grew up respecting the Predator. The aim was to re-establish Predator’s reputation; as a boot for the 2020s. The brand needed to focus on winning over ‘Gen Z’, creating a new generation of Predator advocates.

In the weeks leading up to the new release of Predator’s, jdpl worked closely with adidas to create content on @adidasUK’s Instagram. A self-professed ringer hotline called ‘Rent-A-Pred’ was set up to help players get an advantage over their opposition when they’ve been let down by a team mate. There’s nothing worse than being short of a player for the game at the weekend.

As soon as the news hits, the team fears the worst: late night group chats with someone’s cousin who ‘had trials’ for Arsenal, top scorer having to go in goal as they’re the only one with gloves, the list is endless. It’s simple, a player drops out of your 7-a-side game and adidas send one of London’s best ballers. Seems unfair? It is unfair!

Filmed in an insurance/injury claims ad style, the content piece will appeal directly to those who find themselves in those fearful situations, offering them the solution they never knew existed.
